Indian singing sensation Ila Arun to headline Bollywood show in Regina
11 October 2011, Regina - Indian musical icon Ila Arun is set to headline "Bollywood Musical Sandstorm", an exciting show featuring 40 performers from India. The show starts at 7:00 pm on October 25th on the Conexus Arts Centre main stage.
Arun's international popularity spiked in 2009 with the song "Ringa Ringa" featured on the soundtrack for the Oscar-winning film, Slumdog Millionaire.
This event rounds out the "Year of India in Canada 2011" series that brought an impressive array of cultural programming through Regina, including many performers direct from India. ICA has been a proud host/organizer for these activities.

Ila Arun is supported in this show by 40 diverse performers: professional musicians, modern dancers, and folk artists from remote corners of Rajasthan and Gujarat. Featured talent includes snake dancers, balladeers, instrumentalists, and tribal dancers - most famous in their own right, having participated in festivals all over the world.
Ila and her group have riveted audiences across the planet with over 250 shows over 25 years. The entertainment and impact is unparalleled and unforgettable.

Beloved by India, Ila Arun is an iconic folk and pop singer who has been wowing audiences since bursting onto the scene in 1986 with her debut album, Banjaran.
